With the impending closure of Federal Way, Olympia and Tacoma based Bally’s Fitness clubs, BTAC has become aware of the impact this will have on local tennis players, teaching pro’s and club staff. With that, we are looking to spread the word and keep those interested updated on the situation. In the following passage, you will find a link to Change.org, where you can sign a petition to keep our the clubs open.
The following is a statment from the United States Tennis Association – Pacific Northwest regarding the situation:
“Bally Total Fitness Tennis Facilities Statement from USTA Pacific Northwest
The situation has our organization’s full attention as we recognize the importance of the Bally’s indoor tennis courts to their local communities as well as to our USTA members and the tennis professionals employed there.
The USTA Pacific Northwest is currently investigating all viable options that could result in keeping those courts open.
12/5/11 – The USTA Pacific Northwest is continuing to work towards potential solutions but local tennis players are also speaking up to help save the Bally Total Fitness tennis facilities in Tacoma, Olympia and Federal Way.
